Текст песни:
Baykal, a wrestler, lived on Earth.
A father of many from his birth.
He had three hundred sons, it's said, and one dear daughter, proud instead.
With all his soul, he loved her so.
Gave rubies, gold, a radiant glow.
But from his home, he'd not let her roam.
Baykal was strict, she could not comb.
Oh. Baykal was strict, she could not comb.
Suitors would come with gifts they'd buy.
Pearls, poems beneath the sky.
They'd call her bride to wed and be, but all refused by her father's decree.
Many long days then passed away, when Yenisei arrived one day.
For Baykal's daughter, he proposed a bride price, earned in battles, a worthy sacrifice.
Oh.
Earned in battles, a worthy sacrifice.
A fire ignited between two hearts, but firm the father played his part.
And one early morn before the sun, the lover stole Angara, his beloved one.
Not finding his daughter, his precious prize, Baykal cried out, "I'll chase them with my eyes."
To block their path with all his might, he hurled a thousand stones in furious flight.
Oh. He hurled a thousand stones in furious flight.
One massive rock, a stony plight, lay at the beauty's feet, bathed in light.
A magical crystal it did become.
The river loved it and made it its home.
No cunning spell could overcome.
The daughter, too, a river became numb.
From grief and longing, her spirit did wane.
The saddest river in sorrow's domain.
Oh. The saddest river in sorrow's domain. "I was wrong," the old man sighed.
His spirit broken, nowhere to hide. "If you don't believe, then go and see." But now he's a lake for eternity.
Angara, the river, flows with grace to her beloved through time and space.
Baykal, the elder, with a grumbling sound, feeds their love on hallowed ground.
Oh. Feeds their love on hallowed ground.
