Ravenstrikex - The Raven’s Due

Raise the raven, raise it high.
Truth like an axe through a rotten lie.
Hard years taught me to take the hit.
Worst of all, I got used to it.
I brace the shield, I plant my heel.
They'll hear the truth I learned to conceal.
Out with it. A knee in the dust, a mouth full of grit.
I get to my feet, I won't submit.
They call me savage for standing tall.
For raising a shield when they wanted me small.
Let them meet this steady stare, and tell me this is fair.
An oath to keep.
A wrong to end.
Raise the raven, raise it high.
Truth like an axe through a rotten lie.
Shield to shield, we hold our ground.
Let the fear they gave us chase them down.
I guard her back, she clears the way.
We bring their threats into the light of day.
Into daylight. An oath is more than words we say.
It's who we guard when others turn away.
I put my shield against the next attack.
He steps beside me, we drive it back.
A Viking stands when the threats still bite.
A bigger fist doesn't make them right.
I strike at the lie, she clears the way.
We make them face every word we say.
I want that shield beside the door.
I want my nights back, nothing more.
But rest won't come from bending low.
The wrong must end before I let it go.
I tighten the strap, I lift the shield.
Fear came to rule, now fear must yield.
Stand firm. Word and deed, that's our creed.
Raise the raven, raise it high.
Truth like an axe through a rotten lie.
Shield to shield, we hold our ground.
Let the fear they gave us chase them down.
Stand fast, strike true. Let the truth break through.
Let the truth break through.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Raise the raven.
